The Skycatch EVO3x Data Retrieval Unit is an autonomous aerial image capture system. The UAV automatically takes off, captures photos, lands and offloads photos to an onboard computer. While landed, the UAV battery is charged via a contacts in the base station. I led the Industrial Design of the drone and the the base station inspired by rugged industrial equipment we created an aesthetic that balanced the extensive technical requirements for autonomous flight with a need to exude ruggedness and reliability.
